Our Girls on the Run teams put their big hearts into action with a meaningful community service project! Using recycled t-shirts, they created over 200 handmade dog toys to donate to a local animal shelter. 🐾
This project was such a powerful reminder that even small acts can make a big difference. The girls showed creativity, teamwork, and compassion while giving back to animals in need. We are so proud of the care and effort they poured into every single toy! 💗

First Grade had so much fun exploring living and nonliving things last week!
Our students became little scientists as they observed real worms and gummy worms and discussed their similarities and differences.
To make our learning even more fun, students got to enjoy a dirt and worms cup with "nonliving" gummy worms as a special treat to go along with our investigation! 🍫🪱
Hands-on learning like this helps bring our science concepts to life, and our first graders loved every minute of it! 🔍💡

Just a little addition to our Garden Club thanks to our awesome Dyslexia Teacher and Garden Club member, Mrs. Della Richhart, and our amazing PTO for funding!! This is an Eastern Bluebird nest box!
This exciting addition gives students the opportunity to learn about bird habitats, life cycles, and ecosystems right in our own garden. If WiFi cooperates, teachers will be able to tune in from time to time so students can observe the entire process; from nest site selection and construction to incubation, hatching, feeding, and fledging.
This nest box brings STEM to life as students explore science through real-life life cycles, use technology to observe the nesting process, and learn how engineering design helps create a safe habitat for wildlife. We are super excited!!

🏃♀️💖 Girls on the Run Is Off and Running! 💖🏃♀️
Girls on the Run kicked off last week at Hines, and we are so excited to have 3 teams participating in this empowering program! Over the next 10 weeks, students will build endurance and confidence while learning important life skills like goal setting, teamwork, perseverance, and positive self-talk.
Each season wraps up with a celebratory 5K in Houston, where our girls will put their hard work into action and cheer each other on every step of the way. We are so proud of our runners and can’t wait to watch them grow—inside and out! 💪✨
